FAQ’s
Q. What is hydration?
A. By “hydration”, we mean getting sufficient water into your body’s dry cells so they are adequately wet inside. But not too wet. It is not sufficient to drink plain water for the best possible hydration.
Q. Why is good hydration important?
A. People continually lose water - through exercise, sweating, and evaporation. The water lost needs to be replaced.
Q. What does your product contain?
A. When prepared, ready to drink, from our dry mix, it has water and small amounts of protein, carbohydrate and electrolytes. Also some Vitamin C.
Q. Who uses ThirstySkin?
A. Persons who need help with preventing dry skin and related problems, such as skin cracks, xerosis and eczema. Such persons include runners, joggers, campers, golfers, tennis players, skiers, frequent air travelers, outdoor workers and those exposed daily to chemicals, insulation and other skin irritants. It may also be used by anyone as a beverage.
Q. Where did the idea come from for your product?
A. The idea to search for a better method of hydration came to a PhD physiologist, while commuting between Denver and Oakland, California for a year, 1999-2000. One can get seriously dehydrated during long airplane rides.
Q. What effects have people experienced with it?
Drinking it regularly supports the hydration of the body, including skin and mucous membranes. It also helps reduce the effects of hangovers.
Q. What is the shelf life of your dry mix?
Kept in dry, room temperature storage, over two years.
Q. What does your drink taste like?
A. The beverage has a very pleasant orange flavor. It is slightly effervescent – it fizzes just enough to help it dissolve quickly in cold water. We also have terrific new flavors in R & D. Here is an idea: pour 8 fl oz of cold bubbly water (club soda or a carbonated mineral water) into a tall glass, add a scoop of ThirstySkin powder and stir with a fork until the powder dissolves. There will be foam! And you have yourself a very refreshing drink.
Q. What is the carbohydrate in ThirstySkin?
A. 3.8 grams of sugar per cup (8 fl. oz). Typical soft drinks and juices contain about six times as much sugar as Zesty Water. Zesty Water’s formula contains just a little sugar, which is needed as an energy source to help enable the water transport to dry cells in the body.
Q. How often should I drink ThirstySkin and in what quantity? In order to help maintain hydration of body and skin, once or twice a day, about 8 ounces per serving. It usually takes up to 4-5 days until desired effects are observed.
Q. Is exact preparation important?
A. Yes - mix it as exactly as you can but plus or minus 5 % is not a problem. Do not use anything other than water (or carbonated water) to prepare.
Q. Why do I need to drink it at least 15 minutes before or after eating or drinking other foods or beverages?
A. The relative concentrations of ingredients contained in the drink need to be maintained. If you eat or drink something with Zesty Water, that will change the formula.
Q. Does it have any side-effects?
During several years of testing and commercial use, no clinical study volunteers or customers reported any side effects. Persons with known milk allergies should note that there is a very small amount of lactose in the drink.
Q. What happens after I stop using it?
A. The hydrating & skin maintenance effects of the drink typically last about 4 days, if taken regularly for at least the prior 4 days.
